This is the world of Langley's Ark, a place where mad science and magic meet. Here, the rulers of the underworld are real and rather sarcastic people, pirates and other villains are considered the least of the nuisances, and a poor skimmer captain may find anything from 'mancy storms that drag up kraken to an island full of elves looking for the next sacrifice to their dark gods. The online novel follows the adventures of twins Langley and Sabreur and their misfit crew as they sail around their world trying to scrape together a living, stay out of trouble, and generally failing at both. Oh, and it totally has undead penguins.

According to my DeviantArt account this it the 100th episode of Langley's Ark. I suppose I should have some big emotional outpouring, but honestly, I just like writing. And I'm going to keep writing. Even though readership is low and this is never going to achieve fame or publicity, it's fun to write. And I hope its fun for those of you that read it. So enjoy today's chapter and here's to many more!

New chapter up! Blame Jim Butcher for it being late. I've been reading the Codex Alera series like it's my new drug or something. I think I'm on the last book I have though, so when I finish it tomorrow I'll be freed from the addiction until my next trip to the bookstore.

New storyline, The Floating City, is now up. I rushed on the art for the cover as I wanted to get to the actual story, which I think is going to be QUITE fun. I am also happy to announce a new character will make her appearance. She's not going to be part of the crew, but I think she'll be pretty interesting nonetheless. I mean, it is Ajiin's wife, after all. You'll meet her in a couple chapters. Until then, enjoy the ride.

Well, I think it's time to get this webpage updated. If you're wondering why I rolled off the face of the internet and died... well... it's a long story. The short of it is I got very ill with a rare movement disorder that in some ways resembles seizures. I've had it for about two years now but it has been causing massive disruptions to my life and job. I finally quit my job a couple weeks ago as I realized they did not want me there and there was no way I was ever going to be able to live a normal life while working there. Amazingly, after quitting, I stopped having seizures. Sure, I still have the disorder, but the medication controls it now.
So I'm job hunting right now and to be honest, it's nothing to worry about. I have money saved up for just this eventuality. I also have free time. Granted, I had free time while working too, but I was always too exhausted to take advantage of it. I was so stressed I couldn't write, draw, anything. I'm finding I've got my energy back now and with it has come my creativity. I'm proud to announce that a new Langley's Ark series, "The Floating City" is currently in the works. I don't plan on posting it until I have at least half done so I'll have a bit of a buffer. Schedule will remain every other week. I also want to update this webpage a bit to some newer tools and hopefully filter out the spambots.
This page is also out of date with my deviantart account, which can be found at child-dragon. It's organized so you can find all the episodes. I'll try to get this page up to speed as well as update the quote randomizer.

Not the best chapter I've written but I will say it sets up very nicely for some fun for the next chapter. I hit a good stopping point and well, the starting line of the next chapter will be great, I promise.

Okay! I updated, despite being home for Christmas with nothing to distract me but World of Warcraft! Actually, have you ever tried to level a priest? It's hellish. I don't care what they say about shadow priests being able to level well, yes, they can be powerful, but every other class I play still levels half as painfully as my priest. If I didn't like playing a priest so much I would have quit long ago. But getting five instance invites in one day is a nice feeling. Aaaaanyway. New storyline. This one should be interesting... I've got a hazy idea of what all is going to happen and that's about it. Yay!

Talk about being kicked while you're down. I've had a lot of bad stuff thrown my way recently. A lot. But I'm starting to recover from it all and part of that is going to be getting back into writing. I've always been a creative person and it's like part of me is missing when I'm not actively pursuing a project. I have Fae Wars, yes, but Langley's Ark has always been something I could share with others, unlike Fae Wars that I keep locked away while I work on it. Also, Langley's Ark is close to 100 chapters. It's hard to tell because my numbering scheme differs from the two locations I keep it in but I say it's close enough to start working on something. Survivor. Langley's Ark style. The Avatars vs. the Ark. I'll have to read up on the rules because I've never actually watched the show, but I've got an idea and it should be funny.
